  • This session will discuss the process of refugee resettlement in general and in the U.S. specifically. We will touch upon the many challenges refugees face after resettlement, and how START (Saint Louis Teens Aid Refugees Today) and other local organizations help.

  • In this presentation we will explore the effects of the Climate Crisis and how to live a more sustainable life using Minimalism to better protect the environment.

  • Understanding white privilege and the responsibilities that come with it.

  • This session will discuss how domestic violence victims face physical, mental, and emotional abuse daily and how to support them on their journey.

  • Missouri's funding for its public defender system is the second lowest in the United States. How does this effect the marginalized people of our state? Over 4000 defendants are waiting for representation. This workshop will examine the issue and what we can do to advocate for equity in our criminal justice system. Mary Fox J.D., Director of the Missouri State Public Defender System will be giving a short presentation during the workshop.

  • An introduction and application of overlapping systems of oppression. A call to awareness and action for our Church and our world.

  • This workshop will discuss voter suppression, how to identify it, and how to promote voting. Look for a call to action and information on how to register to vote.

  • This session will discuss the impact on children and families seeking asylum in the Us from Central and Southern American. It will also include information on the Prevention Through Deterrence Policy and information gleaned during past interviews with local immigrants on DACA.

  • Learn strategies to prepare for visits to the offices of elected officials, how to conduct the visit, and follow up afterwards and why these visits are necessary.

  • In this workshop, Professor Robert Hansman of Washington University will discuss how St Louis came to have the divisions we experience today.Bring your own stories of discrimination to this workshop and learn how those incidents fit within the historic patterns of St Louis history.

  • This workshop highlights awareness and a call to action to assist new St. Louis immigrants into our community.
